"Permaculture is the conscious design of sustainable human habitats by following nature's patterns.
Can you imagine a city that produces much of the food its people need? It's time to start.
Our current food system is incredibly fragile and wholly dependent on cheap oil.
But good news! We can grow abundant food in the city: it's the 0 mile diet!
Come
explore how permaculture techniques, principals and ethics can
transform our backyards and our public spaces into lush edible
landscapes. We'll explore soil fertility, microclimates, fruit and nut tree guilds,
do some hands-on activities and discuss community strategies for change.
